Doors Open Day & Work@Heli
Written by Nico Meerschaut
On Friday the 19th of May, Heli Group opened its doors for the second time at our establishment at Vantegemstraat 9 in Wetteren. The weather forecast was not splendid, but despite the rare rain everything remained dry which allowed the visitors to enjoy a beautiful view on top a 57m high aerial work platform without any problems.
Next to the guided tour of the buildings, the visitor could visit the various departments of Heli Group.
The most room was taken by the rental and sales department of aerial work platforms. It was possible to admire the entire assortment of electric scissor lifts by Snorkel. You could also see the spiderlifts by Blue Lift and the aerial work platforms on trailers by Niftylift.
The highlight of the aerial work platforms was the Genie SX180. Feel free to take this both figuratively and literally. With this machine visitor could, under supervision, enjoy the sights of Wetteren from a height of over 50 m. They could also admire the newest model of the Maeda minicranes, the MC815. This compact crane (5,90 m x 1,67 m x 2,49 m) has a maximum capacity of 8 tons and can raise loads to a height of 25,5 m.
In the tent of the Heli Safety Academy, you could get info about the entire assortment of trainings and have a talk with the instructors.
High & Safe, the former Heli Equipment which was renamed on the 1st of April, was present with their extensive assortment of products such as the RSS Rail Safety System (working safely next to tracks), lifelines, roof edge protection, façade cleaning, façade scaffolding, etc…
Not only existing customers and guests were welcome on this, but so were our neighbors and interested parties. Our HR department organized a job fair, aptly named “Work@Heli”. This was a great opportunity for our candidates to meet our organization and colleagues in a different way. “Because of the growth of Heli Group, we are looking for extra employees in various fields” said Dirk Van Haverbeek our CEO.
The day ended with an extensive Walking Dinner.
